CONSOLIDATED: After a third place finish at the conference tournament in Green River, the Lady Braves turned their attention to state where their devotion and effort will help them compete for a title. “I got it,” said senior Katie Dandridge.

Athletics are part of the SVHS fabric and athletes this fall have excelled. Most recently on October 27-28, volleyball competed at the 4A West Regionals Volleyball in Green River Wyoming.

The Lady Braves entered the regional tournament as the number 1 seed in the Southwest with a 6-1 record and 6th in 4A volleyball statewide. “I am excited we came out as first seed because it gives us better seating going into state if we play how we can,” said senior Kenlee Engelhardt.

FLOATING: The volleyball team gathers to float down main street for the homecoming parade. Events like this create camaraderie that brings them together both in and outside of practice.

Their first game in the bracket came against Rock Springs. Beating Rock Springs, launched them into the next round against Kelly Walsh ranked just above Star Valley in the 5th spot in 4A volleyball.

After a hard game the team lost to Kelly Walsh but came back to beat Jackson and Riverton as they secured 3rd place at the regional tournament and a spot in the state tournament. “We can play/beat anyone in the state if we work as a team and play as good as we know we can,” said senior Taya Johnson.

The Star Valley Lady Braves enjoyed an outstanding regular season, and after a 3rd place finish at the conference tournament, they left for state hoping and expecting the best. “I’m excited to see how the rest of the season plays out!” said senior Kaylee Leseberg Luck!
