Number one New York Times Bestselling author Brandon Mull, writer of hit  titles such as Fablehaven, Dragonwatch, and the Beyonders series, has planned a visit to Star Valley High School and some secondary schools around the valley during the first week of November.

This marks the second time in two years that a successful and popular author has visited the school. Jennifer A. Nielson, writer of popular books such as A Night Divided and Iceberg, visited the school last year.

Mull’s visit will consist of him talking about his writing process for his stories and a Q&A session about his books with students.

Mull has a reputation as being approachable and kind to his fans. He also plans to promote his recent book series Dragonwatch at the event.

BOOKIN’ Best-selling author Brandon Mull peruses one of the books from the Fablehaven series that have helped make him so successful. The author currently lives in Utah and has had 11 children. “I am now contentedly living my dream,” said Mull.

Many students grew up reading Mull’s books. One of the first chapter books that I ever read was his Fablehaven and that only the second book series that I had ever read. Mull made me want to be an author, and I found myself starting to write my own short stories with heavy inspiration taken from his work.

LCSD2 district librarian Shelly Hunsaker, in an interview with SVI Media, said. “We are so thrilled to be able to have one of our favorite author’s visit our secondary schools and our libraries. It is always such a unique and wonderful opportunity for our students to be able to meet and learn from an outstanding author, especially such a prolific writer as Brandon Mull.”

Hunsaker’s excitement echos throughout the halls.  Senior Jake Burchard expresses his excitement saying, “I am really looking forward to Brandon Mull’s visit. I loved his books growing up. Fablehaven was one of my favorite novels as a kid.”

The fantasy author’s impact on so many students will make for an exciting event on November 6.
