Students Set Off on Spring Break Adventures Across the Globe
Focused but stressed. Students work quietly during class while completing assignments on their laptops. Academic pressure, grades, and planning for the future are some of the most common things high school students say they worry about.
What Do SVHS Students Worry About Most?
The cast rehearses together on stage at as they prepare for opening night. Students spent weeks practicing songs, choreography, and scenes to bring the musical to life. “It’s the craziest week, but it really bonds the cast,” senior Ainsley Bowman said.
SVHS to Present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
These students participated in the 2025–26 State Young Author Program, submitting original short stories, poetry collections, and graphic novels for the district-level competition. Freshman Aniston Schwab earned first place in the ninth-grade short story category and will advance to the state competition. “My favorite part about participating was my love for writing stories. I enjoy using different perspectives, emotions, and cliffhangers that leave people wanting more,” Schwab said.

Jazz Band Showcases Talent at UW Festival

The students represented Jordan in the Palestinian Affairs Council, collaborating with delegates from across the country to draft resolutions on complex international issues. “Working with delegates from other countries to reach a common goal was super rewarding, even if the sessions were ‘pretend,’” said Barnes-Boch.

Gaskell said, "I am excited for the upcoming volleyball and basketball seasons because we have put in a lot of work to be better." Gaskell got the opportunity to play in some varsity basketball games this year as a sophomore.
