Star Valley High School’s cross country team celebrated a remarkable victory at the state championships, showcasing outstanding teamwork and resilience
“My mindset going in was all about execution,” Jase said. “I knew I had run faster times than anyone else, but competitive running is humbling. I had to be confident and focus on running my race.”
A standout moment for Jase came half a mile into the race when he spotted his teammates Habi and Race ahead of him. “I had to stay calm and focus on closing back down on them,” he recalled. After crossing the finish line, he felt immense pride watching his teammates finish strong.
Jase faced challenges during the race but relied on his mental toughness. “It was all in my brain. I stayed calm when I wasn’t where I hoped to be and felt confident in my training.”
For Jase, the victory symbolizes teamwork and the legacy of Star Valley distance running. “I give all credit to my teammates and coach. We’ve created a legacy, and it feels great to be at the top together,” he said.
With this championship win, Star Valley High School has cemented its place in cross country history and inspired future athletes to continue the tradition of excellence.
