When a new school year begins, new teachers show up to the school. Just to make it easier for anyone who has a difficult time talking but wants to get to know some of these new teachers better, here are 5 questions they answered.
(1) What’s your name?
(2) What do you teach?
(3) What made you want to work here?
(4) What’s your favorite show/movie?
(5) What’s a song that perfectly describes you?
Mr. Bryan Burton (Math): Burton has roots in Wyoming and has lived here most of his life. After completing his college degree and starting a family, he and his wife decided to move back to Star Valley. They love the community and wanted their children to grow up in an good environment. They also just missed Wyoming. The jam that Burton feels most describes him is “Shotgun” by George Ezra because he enjoys the outside world and just taking it easy. He feels as though the song reflects that. That’s Mr Burton for you! Go say hi to him when you get the chance!
Mrs. Windy McGinley (assistant principal): As a new administrator, she has does quite a few things here! McGinley has conducted the freshmen orientation, helped run all safety protocols and drills, enforces school rules, and helps teachers complete goals or tasks that they want to complete this year! She previously worked at the middle school level in North Dakota and Star Valley, but jumped at the chance to work with the older kids, aka “The cooler kids”, at the high school. McGinley could not pick just one perfect song to describe here so she chose two: The soundtracks from The Last of the Mohicans and Avatar. When pressed to be more specific, she named “Windy” by The Association and “The Dance” by Garth Brooks, the first, obviously because of her name, and the other one becasue it feels personal to her. And with that, go say hi to Mrs. McGinley if you pass by her!
