Sometimes the best conversations start with ideas that seem pointless at first but quickly turn into debates. When people are asked to give their opinions on random, everyday topics, their answers often reveal humor, personality, and surprisingly strong opinions about things most of us never think twice about.

The soap question alone was enough to divide opinions. Cooper Daniel tried to find a middle ground, saying, “I would say neither, the floor is still dirty, and the soap is still clean. If I had to pick a side, I would say that the soap is dirty.” This response shows just how impossible the question really is. Sawyer Crook took a more straightforward approach with, “Depends on how clean the floor is (The soap is dirty)”. In the end, it seems like the soap is always the one that suffers, no matter how clean the floor might be.

Things became even more interesting when the topic turned to boneless wings. Brannen Fullmer confidently defended them, saying, “Boneless wings are on top. It’s basically like a chicken nugget but you just get more. Ooh and if they’re like actual wings so they’re in sauce and stuff, that’s peak.” On the other hand, Aibree Peavler pointed out the logic behind the argument, explaining, “I think boneless wings are basically just chicken nuggets. They’re both made from pieces of chicken that are breaded and fried. The only real difference is that boneless wings usually have sauce on them and are called “wings” for marketing. So they’re pretty much the same thing.” Whether you agree or not, it’s clear that this debate isn’t going away anytime soon.

The final question offered people a chance to think beyond everyday arguments. When asked whether they would rather travel 100 years into the future or the past, Joyah Scheriber chose the past, saying, “Definitely 100 years into the past because I feel the olden days would be so fun to experience.” Gage Fitzsimmons, however, chose the future, joking, “100 years into the future because by then I could have an alien spaceship, and while everyone else is in their cheap Lamborghinis, I’ll pull up in an alien spaceship and I’ll be a baller, and Elon will be balling.” Compared to debating soap and wings, this question showed a more thoughtful and imaginative side.
These responses show that even the simplest questions can lead to ntertaining conversations. While none of these debates have a clear answer, they show how students bring humor, logic, and personality into even the most random topics—and that’s what makes them fun to ask in the first place.
