As the new year begins, students across the school are reflecting on the past year and setting goals for the months ahead. New Year’s resolutions give students a chance to focus on self-improvement, whether that means doing better in school, improving a skill, or working on personal health.
For some students, the new year is about staying more organized and responsible. Ayden shared that his New Year’s resolution is to “be better about turning in assignments.” Like many students, he hopes that improving his time management and staying on top of schoolwork will help reduce stress and lead to better academic success throughout the year.
Others are using the new year as an opportunity to improve at activities they enjoy outside of school. Axel said his goal is “to be better at skateboarding and learn to full send.” Skateboarding is something Axel is passionate about, and his resolution shows his determination to challenge himself, build confidence, and continue improving his skills.
Health and personal growth are also common themes in students’ resolutions. Carter shared that his goal for the new year is “to eat more and add on weight.” This resolution reflects his focus on taking better care of his body and becoming stronger as the year goes on.
Although each student’s resolution is different, they all share a similar goal of becoming a better version of themselves in the new year. Whether it’s improving grades, mastering a hobby, or focusing on health, these resolutions show that students are motivated to start the year with purpose. As the year continues, many hope to stay committed to their goals and see positive changes by the time the next new year arrives.
