Behind every successful school day at Star Valley High School is a dedicated main office staff working to support students, teachers, and the entire school community. Their combined efforts help create the positive, energetic environment that defines SVHS.
Mrs. Kristi Clark has been working at Star Valley High School for eight years and serves as the AD Assistant. Before coming to the high school, she worked at Afton Elementary. Mrs. Clark says her favorite part of the job is working with the SVHS staff, whom she considers the best. She also enjoys interacting with the students, saying they make Star Valley High School a great place to be.
One of the newest members of the main office team is Mr. Kyle McClain, who has been at SVHS for about four and a half months. As the Activities Director, he oversees student activities and helps ensure there are many opportunities for students to get involved. Mr. McClain says he loves how engaged the students and staff are and credits the coaches, advisors, and staff for creating so many fun activities. Before coming to SVHS, he served as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Pleasant Hill High School in Oregon and previously worked as a wrestling coach and PE teacher.
Mrs. Valerie Booth has been a part of Star Valley High School since 2003 and manages bookkeeping and substitute teachers. Over her 23 years at SVHS, she has had the opportunity to get to know countless students. Mrs. Booth says the students are her favorite part of the job, adding that they are the reason she enjoys coming to work each day. Prior to SVHS, she worked for Maverik Corporation handling billing, payroll, and road taxes.
In her second year at Star Valley High School, Mrs. Wendy McGinley serves as an assistant principal. Her responsibilities include attendance, tardy detention, cell phone use, observing teachers, and planning events throughout the year. She enjoys attending activities and watching students participate in pep assemblies. With 29 years of experience in education, Mrs. McGinley has worked as a teacher, coach, principal, and Director of Education in six different states. Outside of school, she enjoys being outdoors, riding horses, skiing, paddleboarding, gardening, and watching sports.
With 21 years at SVHS, Mr. Josh Frazier has become a trusted and familiar presence in the main office. A former school counselor, he now works closely with students and staff as an assistant principal to promote safety, well-being, and a positive school culture. Mr. Frazier says his favorite part of the job is the fun and energy that come from interacting with students and staff each day. Before joining SVHS in 2005, he studied at Utah State University and North Dakota State University and worked as a counselor at High Country Counseling.
Leading Star Valley High School is Mr. Farren Haderlie, who has spent 16 years at SVHS—12 years as a teacher and four years as principal. He taught in Mr. Barnes’ room before moving into administration. Mr. Haderlie says his favorite part of the job has always been the students and the teachers. He jokingly describes one of his roles as being the school’s “cell phone eliminator.” Before coming to SVHS, he taught for Bridgerland Technology Center in Randolph, Utah.
Together, the main office staff at Star Valley High School provides leadership, organization, and support that helps make the school a place where students feel encouraged, involved, and successful.
