The girls’ wrestling team delivered an impressive performance at the MC Filly tournament held at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah, showcasing both talent and determination against strong competition from around the region. Leading the way, Cara Andrews, Brooke Schwab, and Remi Aullman each won their respective weight classes, bringing home honor for the team. Their victories reflected not only skill on the mat but also the countless hours of preparation and hard work put in throughout the season.
Cara emphasized growth and improvement following her win, saying, “I was really happy with how I did at the MC Filly, but I also can recognize things that I can improve on, so I will take everything good and bad from this weekend and work on perfecting my technique and skills for future tournaments.” Her mindset highlights the team’s focus on continuous development rather than just results.
Remi also celebrated a major milestone, earning her third MC Filly tournament win. “Winning felt incredibly rewarding. This was my third time winning the tournament, and it means a lot to me because it shows how much my hard work has paid off. Every year brings new challenges and tougher competition, so being able to come back and win again is a great accomplishment. I’m really proud of myself and grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way,” she said
In addition to individual success, the tournament held special meaning for the team’s seniors. This year’s roster includes six senior wrestlers and one senior manager, all of whom play key leadership roles for the team. Overall, the MC Filly tournament was a strong showing for the girls’ wrestling program, highlighting both athletic achievement and a culture of perseverance. With momentum from this event, the team looks forward to building on its success in upcoming competitions.
