As the holiday season arrived, the school was filled with festive spirit thanks to a winter-themed decorating competition organized by the Student Council of both grades. Over the course of two weeks, students worked together to transform their assigned halls into creative holiday displays, turning ordinary school spaces into immersive winter scenes.
One of the most talked-about decorations was the sophomore hall, which featured a detailed gingerbread-themed design. From carefully crafted decorations to a consistent color scheme, the hall impressed judges with its creativity and attention to detail. When the results were announced, the sophomore gingerbread hall was named the winner of the competition, earning recognition for its standout design.
Students across the school shared positive reactions to the event. Kanyon Rivas commented, “I like the sophomore hall the best”
Student Council representative Charles Erickson also shared his thoughts, saying, “I would say that it was a good time hanging out with a bunch of people from my class, and locking in to come out on top with the dub. .” These responses highlighted the excitement and pride students felt after seeing the final results of the competition.
Beyond the decorations themselves, the event helped bring the school community together during a busy time of year. Students collaborated with classmates they might not normally work with, strengthening connections and encouraging cooperation. Teachers and staff also appreciated the effort, noting that the decorations added warmth and energy to the school environment.
Overall, the winter decorating competition was a success, showcasing student creativity and school spirit. The time, effort, and enthusiasm put into each hall made the school feel festive and welcoming, helping to create lasting memories for everyone involved during the holiday season.
