The Stars in the Valley Christmas Concert brought the holiday season to life this past Saturday, December 13, 2025, in the high school auditorium. The event drew a large crowd of students, families, and community members who gathered to celebrate the season through music, dance, and performance.
This year’s concert featured a total of 17 performing groups, each showcasing their dedication and talent. From high-energy dance routines to festive holiday music, the variety of performances kept the audience engaged throughout the night. With classic Christmas songs and bright seasonal lighting, the concert reflected the traditional atmosphere many look forward to during the holiday season.
For several performers, the size of the audience made the night especially memorable. Many shared that they had never performed in front of such a large crowd before, which added both excitement and nervous energy to the experience. Despite the pressure, the performers delivered confident routines, demonstrating the time and effort spent preparing for the concert.

Eighth-grade performer Tenna Shumway shared that one of the highlights of the night was the sense of connection among teammates. “My favorite part was the team bonding and the socializing throughout the night,” Tenna said. “Spending time with my team is a big part of why I love performing with the team.” This year’s Christmas concert held special meaning for Tenna, as it marked her final year performing with Dezi’s Dance Team before transitioning to cheer next year.
Shumway’s classmate Remmy Veigel emphasized how the holiday season brings the team closer together. “My favorite part about performing in the holiday season is that we get to hang out with our team and give gifts,” Remmy said. These traditions help create a positive and supportive environment for performers both on and off the stage.
The success of the concert was also supported by individuals working behind the scenes, including Janet Erickson, who helped with the event’s organization and overall flow. Erickson shared her passion for the arts and her appreciation for student performers. “I love giving people the opportunities to share their gifts and talents,” she said. “Watching them shine and seeing the joy in their faces is very meaningful for me. I’m very passionate about the arts because music and performance bring people together and support mental, emotional, and intellectual growth.”
With a full audience, 17 strong performances, and a meaningful sense of togetherness, the Stars in the Valley Christmas Concert served as a memorable celebration of talent, teamwork, and holiday spirit within the school community.
“With the amount of dedication shown by every performer and the overwhelming support from the audience, this concert truly captured what the holiday season is about,” said senior Ikaika Cope.
