Star Valley High School students filled the commons area with holiday spirit on December 6 during the 2025 Winter Formal, a night centered on friendship, laughter, and seasonal fun. Among the many couples in attendance were senior Ambrey Nelson and junior Dax Button, who made the most of the day leading up to the dance.
Rather than rushing straight to the formal, Nelson and Button spent the day enjoying winter-themed activities with friends. “For the day we went to brunch, made gingerbread houses, watched some football games, and made pizza for dinner,” Nelson said. The relaxed schedule gave the group plenty of time to connect before the evening festivities began.
Joining Nelson and Button were two other couples: Roman Erickson and Vanna Basil, along with Kai Frazier and Sarah Bowers. The group’s shared time together became just as memorable as the dance itself, especially during the gingerbread house competition.
“My favorite part of the whole thing was watching Kai try to make a gingerbread house,” Button said, laughing as he recalled the moment.
As music echoed through the commons and students danced the night away, Winter Formal 2025 proved to be more than just a dance. For Nelson, Button, and their friends, it was a full day of simple moments that turned into lasting memories.
