On Monday, November 11, students and staff at Star Valley High School gathered in the auditorium to honor the men and women who have served our country. The annual Veterans Day Assembly was a time for reflection, gratitude, and inspiration.
The program opened with a beautiful performance by the school choir, setting a respectful tone for the morning. Afterward, Will reflected, “I was very nervous to sing in front of the school, but when I started singing, it made me remember what the veterans have done for us.”
Choir member Gracie Jackson added, “I was so nervous and excited at the same time to sing in front of everyone. We worked so hard on the song and really came out with a bang at the end.”
The highlight of the assembly came when Josh Frazier and his son Kai shared the story of Josh’s grandfather Leo O. Frazier who bravely fought in World War II.

Mr. Frazier spoke about his grandfather’s courage and the deep love he had for his country, saying, “His love of his fellow Americans and this great nation.” His words reminded everyone of the selflessness and unity that define true patriotism.
Following his father, Kai shared an inspiring message that connected the lessons of history to today’s world. He said,“I think we as students and Americans can take this example from our own history and work with those we disagree with for the benefit of us all as a whole. It begins with each one of us individually. It begins with each of us in the hallways of Star Valley High School. It begins with what we choose to watch, share, post, like, or forward. It begins with kindness that is engrained deep in who we are and how we choose to see our fellow Americans. We must find a level of common respect and build from there.”
Mrs. Englehardt said, “It moved my soul and continues to be a reminder of the blessings that we all have!
The assembly was a powerful reminder that honoring veterans means more than remembering their service—it means carrying forward the values they fought to protect. It ended with the entire school standing to sing “America the Beautiful.” In that powerful moment, voices united — students, teachers, and veterans — to honor the brave and celebrate the spirit of freedom.Through kindness, respect, and unity, students were encouraged to build a better future for all Americans.
