The Star Valley High School Auditorium came alive with melody and harmony on Wednesday evening, October 29, as the school’s talented choir students took the stage for their highly anticipated fall concert.
The evening showcased both solo performances and group numbers, highlighting the vocal abilities of students from all grade levels. Family members, friends, and community supporters filled the auditorium, arriving early to secure their seats and soak in the musical atmosphere before the show began.
Throughout the trimester, choir members have been diligently preparing their repertoire, and their hard work was evident in Wednesday’s polished performance. The program featured a diverse selection of songs that demonstrated the choir’s range and versatility.
Several standout moments highlighted individual talent within the ensemble. John Hellsten provided rhythmic accompaniment on bongos for a solo performed by William Miller. Bran Fullmer showcased his versatility by playing “Reed River Valley” on harmonica. “My neighbor taught me the fine art of harmonica blowing,” said Fullmer.
The concert also featured memorable solo performances that revealed the dedication of individual choir members. Will Egbert sang a portion of “Come Thou Fount.” Coney Beck delivered a heartfelt rendition of the familiar refrain “Home on the Range,” putting his heart and soul into his moment in the spotlight.
“I love watching these kids; their performance was exceptional,” said Principal Mr. Haderlie. “It’s amazing how year after year they just keep getting better.”
The evening proved that the first trimester choirs have set a high bar for musical excellence this school year. The concert provided an opportunity for the Star Valley community to witness the dedication and talent of the school’s music program, as proud parents, supportive teachers, and enthusiastic classmates created an encouraging environment that allowed the performers to shine.
As the final notes faded and applause filled the auditorium, it was clear that the choirs had delivered a memorable evening of musical excellence.
