Star Valley is the only undefeated team in 3A after victory in Cody on Oct 17th and Evanston on the 24th. While the Evanston game turned out to be a walk in the park for the Braves as they cruised to a 52-14 victory, they had a sterner test in Cody.
Leading to this game Cody had not lost since last year at state. Neither team could score in the first quarter but the Braves scored first in the second quarter, and then Ikaika Cope recovered an onside kick that led to a touchdown to shift the momentum in Star Valley’s favor. The Braves did not score in the second half but held the Broncs to one score and came out with an exciting win 14-7.
Senior Roman Erickson stiffarms a Cody defender to gain extra yards. As a returning all-stating, Erickson had a heavy load to carry. He said, "Cody is always well-prepared for us , so it's always nice to come out with a win."
