On Saturday, May 10, 2025, students at Star Valley High School gathered for an unforgettable evening at the annual junior prom, themed “Journey to the Past.”
The night kicked off with the Grand March, where juniors were escorted onto the stage by their dates, striking playful poses or performing fun little tricks for the crowd. It was a lively start to a night filled with excitement, laughter, and celebration.
The dance was held in the school’s commons area, which had been transformed with stunning decorations that perfectly matched the theme. Students came dressed to impress, ready to enjoy the final dance of the school year.
Behind the magic was the hardworking student council. They dreamed up the theme, spent countless hours decorating, and worked tirelessly to bring every detail to life. They even advocated for the return of the Grand March, successfully convincing the administration to make it part of the evening.
Their dedication paid off, delivering a prom night that not only met but exceeded expectations—a true journey to the past and a memory students won’t soon forget.
Royalty was announced midway through the dance, adding a surprise twist to an already exciting night. Unlike previous years, the names were kept secret until each member of the royal court was called up to receive their sashes and crowns.
This year’s royal court included:
King: Brannen Fullmer
Queen: Janey Young
1st Attendants: Ryan Talbot and Remington Allmun
2nd Attendants: Maya Hyde and Zack Thompson
After being crowned, the newly named royalty took to the dance floor for a slow dance, surrounded by cheers and applause from classmates and friends.
But the fun didn’t start at the dance—students kicked off the day with creative and adventurous day dates. Groups participated in activities like paintball, golfing, mini-golf, and even trips to Pocatello for arcade games and lunch. Before heading to the main event, many gathered for home-cooked dinners hosted by parents, followed by lots of photos with friends and dates.
Many students are calling it the best dance of the year. The evening was a perfect send-off to the school year, filled with laughter, music, and memories that will be cherished for years to come.
