Kelly Walsh Game
On Thursday, March 13, the junior and senior cheerleaders traveled to Casper to support the Braves and Lady Braves at the state basketball tournament, hoping to bring home two state titles. These trips are always a highlight for the cheerleaders, who love traveling with the teams, lifting their spirits, and showing unwavering support throughout the games. During this trip, they shared a bus and hotel accommodations with the band members, making the experience even more memorable.
On Thursday the cheerleaders rallied behind the Lady Braves during their 4:30 game. Although the Lady Braves were unfortunately defeated, the cheerleaders remained full of energy, ready to cheer on the boys in their 8:30 matchup. Throughout the evening, they gave it their all—shouting at the top of their lungs and performing stunts they had been perfecting for months, including some of their state-level routines, to keep the excitement high and the Braves motivated. They also enjoyed cheering on other teams, appreciating the camaraderie and kindness among fellow cheer squads. For them, few things are more rewarding than spreading positivity and support to others.
On Friday, the cheerleaders were up early, ready to do it all over again at the Casper Event Center. They started with warm-ups and practice, refining their stunts before cheering on the Lady Braves at 10:30. After keeping the energy high, they took a well-deserved break to enjoy some delicious smoothies at the event center. Refueled and recharged, they geared up to cheer on the Braves in their 1:30 game against Kelly Walsh. Though both teams ultimately faced tough losses, the cheerleaders had an incredible time, celebrating their passion for supporting their teams and doing what they love most.
While the cheerleaders loved supporting their teammates, they also made the most of their time in Casper by having some fun. During the trip, they threw a surprise birthday party for one of their teammates, then headed to the trampoline park to show off their acrobatic skills and shoot hoops like the basketball players. They even let loose in the 5-year-old jungle gym, embracing their inner child. To top it all off, they went to the mall and enjoyed a delicious meal at Texas Roadhouse, where they made a teammate ride the saddle to celebrate her 17th birthday.
“Our Lady Brave cheerleaders know how to have a good time,” said Rylynne Merritt, the cheer captain. “My favorite part of the trip was jamming out to music with the best bus driver and running through the jungle gym with all of my best friends.”
