Members of the team eat lunch at the school in Riverton. Tournaments take a long time and students usually have to eat at the school where they are competing. Senior Kennadee Wheeler said, "Depending on the tournament, either the school or parents will feed us, but most of the time we just bring snacks."

The concert orchestra practices one of the songs that they will play at String-Fest. Conductor Lisa Barber said, "We are working hard in orchestra to learn the music. When we arrive at Stringfest on March 19, we only have that day to rehearse with the students from Jackson and be able to play together as an orchestra for a concert that night, so it's important that we know the music well when we arrive." The orchestra has been working hard for the past 2 weeks to prepare for their first ever high school String-Fest.

This big date group assembles for the first time on Feb 8th before heading to the dance. Some groups like this one did not go on a day date but got together for dinner before the dance. Sophomore Maddie Aullman said, "I thought the dance was fire. Most of our plans were last minutes, but at the end of the day our group was amazing, and we made some good memories!" They at dinner at Jace Burton's house.

The girls and boys of Speech & Debate take a group photo in the cold weather outside of Star Valley High School. The team ended up editing a picture of the speech & debate "ancestors" that comes from their iconic theme "Lets talk it to death." Sophomore Bailey Sperry said, "I am so happy I beat my biggest competition at our recent tournament!"
Forensics Team Moving Through Busy, Successful Season
Eight sophomore friends watch "Letters to Juliet" on Galentines. They had spent the afternoon eating crepes, playing games and laughing a lot. Host Eden Adams said, "It was so fun to be able to hang out with my friends and not have any pressure to act normal around someone."

St. Valentine marries a young couple. Hi did this in secret knowing the consequences if the emperor found out. St. Valentine originally wrote, "Love, from your Valentine."

The 2024-2025 regular season cheer team positions together in front of barn for their team pictures. These pictures were actually taken on pipes used for farming equipment, and all photos this day were done on a real farm, giving their pictures a more Star Valley feel. Sophomore Cheerleader Joyah Schreiber said, "I really enjoyed these pictures. I loved that they had a more fun look than being super uniform."

After months of intense training, dedication, and grit, these athletes battled their way through tough competition, showcasing their strength, technique, and heart. The Star Valley boys placed third at the state meet with a total of 64 points, largely contributed by distance runners Jase Burton, Habtamu Wetzel, and Sullivan Wilson. The entire team felt a strong sense of accomplishment and is eager to improve even further next year.

The Lady Braves press up the Rock Springs Tigers in their first regional game. The Lady Braves took on four different Wyoming High School Basketball teams over the weekend at the 4A West Regional Tournament."It was a good motivating win for the start of the tournament, and it opened our eyes to what we needed to work on," said said #15 senior Kambree Johnson.

They also had volunteers there to take photos of the athletes, and Engel and Volkers had a tent with hot chocolate and water that they gave out to athletes and everyone who needed it. Waldron exclaimed, "I love cheering for my friends while they are racing, and I love all the family and friends who are there to support me."

"No AirPods makes me hate school even more now," said Lancaster. "No phones is understandable, and honestly I don't care about it that much, but the no AirPods rule seems kind of stupid," added England.

Girls Wrestling Take Home State Championship

Star Valley High School’s girls wrestling team celebrates a state championship title for the 2025 season! After months of intense training, dedication, and grit, these athletes battled their way through tough competition, showcasing their strength, technique, and heart. Their victory showed how much work and effort they put in. Congratulations to the lady’s in braids!

Only one team has won the Wyoming State title for girls wrestling: The Star Valley Lady Braves, and they’ve won it three times. 

The talented athletes who qualified for state included seniors Veil Forman, Kenna Merritt, Hallie Robertson, Keston Johnson, and Cashlee Hepworth; Juniors Remi Aullman, Cara Andrews, Brooke Schwab, and Stella Lind; sophomores Carlee Angell, Oakley Hepworth, and Lillian Anderson; and freshman Paisley Harbach.

Remi Alluman is brought to tears by her first victory in state. Aullman worked hard for this state title and is grateful to take home the win. Remi is going to keep working hard so she can win another championship next year.

These dedicated wrestlers put in countless hours of hard work to reach the state tournament, savoring every moment of the experience. Freshman Paisley Harbach said, “Being the only freshman to qualify for state was such an incredible experience, and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.”

Earning a spot at state takes many years and lots of effort to achieve, and many of these athletes have strived towards this moment throughout their high school careers. Their hard work, resilience, and commitment have helped the girls wrestling team to their 3rd consecutive state championship.

Junior Will Linford dabs up junior Dylan Shumway after a free throw against Evanston. Star Valley looked to get their revenge on Evanston for their prior lost to them in the pre season. Junior Will Linford said, " All week at practice we went over Evanston's style of playing, so we knew their tendencies. We just played ball and we came out with a win."
Brave Basketball off to 5-0 Start in Conference Play
Seniors Ty Johnson and Harrison Littel enjoy shredding some fresh powder. After hours of practice they can enjoy going in the terrain park. "Its fun to see how far I've been able to come and how much progress I have made over the years," said Johnson.
Learning Curve for Snowboarding Steep But Worth It
Taking a break before they run the 100m, Paxton Beebe and Teagan Barclay have a chance to soak in the track experience. Both of these two had the opportunity to go to state and represent the school last season. Fellow senior Kelby Stephens is also soaking in the indoor experience. "I'm not much in to running, but I like to throw, and so I decided to do shotput," said Stephens.
