When life gives you lemons make lemonade, and that’s what girls are doing, coming up with solutions to their problems.
Girls worldwide have solved a problem on one very problematic day: Valentine’s Day.
This February holiday reminds people who aren’t in relationships, just how single they are, but over the years girls have found a way to not feel so single and hang out with each other more often.
Single girls on Valentine’s Day came up GALENTINES, a way to bring friends closer and have a good time.
“We don’t need any boys when we’ve got each other,” laughed Erika Allred. Girls find peace in knowing they have good friends to surround them with and can spend time with, learning to lean more on their best friends.
I celebrated Galentines with friends who have been through rough patches, come out as good friends, and would help each other through thick and thin.
We spent the first part of the evening getting one friend out of a snowbank she had gotten stuck in. We all pushed, and with a little help from two of the girls’ dads, pulled free.
We debated whether Flynn Rider or Peter Kavinsky was the hotter man and agreed to disagree.
We ate crepes and talked about good books we’ve read. We reminisced on the days when we were younger.
We finally watched a movie but got distracted and ended up playing a game and acting crazy.
Finally tired, we settled down and cried, laughed, and sang until the ending credits of “Letters to Juliet.”
Galentines. An experience to remember.
