Star Valley showed up to Jackson on Friday, Jan 31 and made themselves at home. If Braves’ fans know how to do anything, they know how to create a good student section. The students supported both the girls and boys basketball players. Although the score did not show it, the first half of the girls game was a much closer and tighter than the final score of 56 to 21 made it look.
The Braves had an awesome night finishing with 73 points to the Broncs 45. Although the final score was a blowout, the first quarter was a tight and intense.
“It was fun to get a second use for my prom dress, and it was super hype until the student section started beefing,” said junior Maya Hide. The student section definitly knows how to have fun; however, sometimes they have to calm down. As the away team, Star Valley didn’t have any cheerleaders, but that didn’t stop them from using cheers and chants.
Cheerleader and junior Sarah Bowers said, ” It was fun finally being in the student section. It was a different experience cheering with them rather than for them.” In the student section fans come together and cheer no matter what they do in school. The band, cheerleaders, athletes from other programs, and so many other clubs and activities came together in Jackson to cheer on our basketball team to victory.
This was the fifth straight win for the Braves who return home to play Green River on Saturday, Feb 8. after playing Rock Springs on the seventh. The students and valley look forward to again cheer on their team to victory.
