Automotive is one of the most popular vocational classes at Star Valley High School. Students enjoy this class because it teaches them practical skills, like working on their own cars.
Additionally, students who complete all their assignments are allowed to work on personal projects. The most popular auto course by far is Auto Mechanics II, which spans two class periods, giving students extra time to focus on their projects. The shop is equipped with several essential tools, including three two-post lifts and a scissor lift, which students use to practice performing alignments on cars. Fynn Rainey says “shop is super helpful with working on projects because you can use tools at school that you don’t have at home.”
