What made you become an exchange student?
I love America and want to learn English very well.
What is the biggest difference between your hometown school and SVHS?
I think the biggest difference is the subjects and teachers. You can’t choose your subjects in Italy, and the teacher-student relationship is stricter there. Here, the teachers are very friendly.
What is something you expected to be different before you came here?
I didn’t expect the weather to be so cold. It’s much colder than I thought.
What do you like most about school or your experience so far?
I like that you can choose your subjects, and the teachers are very friendly. People here are passionate about sports.
What do you miss most about your home country?
I miss the warm weather, the food, my friends, and my family. I used to live near the city, so I miss city life.
What culture shock did you experience?
In Italy, people usually eat dinner at 8:30-9:00 PM. For lunch, we don’t eat at school; we eat lunch after school finishes, around 2:20 PM.
What made you become an exchange student?
Since I was a child, I have always wanted to do an exchange year.
What is the biggest difference between your hometown school and SVHS?
The biggest difference is that here they have sports and other activities at school.
What is something you expected to be different before you came here?
The social life. I thought people here would go out more on the streets, like in Spain.
What do you like most about school or your experience so far?
I like that having sports in school makes people more united.
What do you miss most about your home country?
I miss my family, friends, and the food.
What culture did you experience?
They say “thank you” for everything, which is not as common in Spain.
