For decades, audiences have watched the Brave Cadettes perform for 2 to 3-minutes, usually during halftime of a football or basketball game. What most of those in the audience do not appreciate, however, is how much time and hard work goes into each performance.
The average Brave Cadette practice time runs around 4 hours; most of those hours involve cardio with all the leaps and running across the floor it takes. Cadettes must also repeat the moves over and over again until everyone looks the same. Then, before going out, they have to deal with the butterflies going up and down, hoping to impress the audience after weeks of coming home beaten, bruised, and exhausted.
Although it sounds bad, it is a lot of fun. While the coaches try to figure something out, the dancers create games to pass the time. When they all get so tired, they laugh at the dumbest things. Like a family, the time they spend together is the best part.
