Back in July we started making videos for and Instagram account we created. After we started to gain an audience, we didn’t want to just make videos, we wanted to make something bigger out of it.
We had always talked about starting a clothing line, but we never knew where to start. When school came around, we decided to learn all we need to know about starting a business. After many failed attempts, we were finally made and produced some clothes that fit our everyday style. We call it ANARKY Clothing.
Over the summer, we both worked 9-5 jobs, so we had a little money to fund our business idea. Hoping that one day it would pay off and we weren’t just wasting our money, we got to work. Although it started out slow, we have already made our money back and are hoping that one day we can become something big and make even more.
In classes at SVHS, we were able to learn all about graphic designing, media, and photography. We have employed the things that we have learned in those classes and it has paid off so far. “For the first time in my life, I am actually using something that I’ve learned in school for real life application,” said Lancaster. These are some of the designs that have been released:
When we first started, many people were skeptical, saying stuff like “We couldn’t make it” and “It’s a waste of your time.” Although we had people hating, we knew what we had was more than they perceived, and now that we are actually producing clothing and making money, peoples’ opinions have completely flipped over the past two months. When writing this article, we went out and asked three students what they thought about our product.
“I think ANARKY Clothing is making big moves in the skateboarding/streetwear community. You know what I’m saying?” said junior Ridge Jenson.
“At first, I had my doubts, but now that I’ve seen the work they put into it, I think what they are doing is actually pretty cool,” said junior Ezra Rammel.
“I bought one of their shirts, and not gonna lie, it was pretty good quality, and the graphic was nicely printed on. I think they have a bright future if I’m being honest,” said junior Mykell Nunez.
We will keep at it and see how far we take ANARKY.
