Linford Lands Coveted Title of Mr. SVHS
ALL HAIL THE KING: Senior Luke Linford preforms his lip sync portion of the competition. Linford chose the song Big and Chunky by Will.I.Am. “I chose this song because it is how I like my ladies. Ballard Johnson was very proud of me when I told him I won,” said Linford.

Many traditions have become legend over the years at SVHS. One of them is the Mr. SVHS pageant. Though this competition is new to this generation of students, it used to be an annual tradition that would take place during homecoming week in years past.
This year the student council decided to bring it back. Nine senior boys participated in the pageant, but only one claimed the title. Mr. Clark, Mrs. Filibi, Mrs. Engelhart, and Mr. Saltzman were the judges who awarded Luke Linford the title of 2022 Mr. SVHS.
“Determining the winner of the pageant was super hard. There was a lot of conflict between the judges because not all of of could agree on one winner. All of the boys had the potential to win the title,” said Mr. Saltzman.
The pageant consisted of three different categories; talent, lip sync, and lastly, trivia. All nine boys spent weeks preparing for the night of the competition. After each category two contestants were eliminated.
