Looking Inside Artists’ Minds

Ashlynn Erickson: “Night Sky” feels like the 80’s. Ashlynn’s inspiration for this painting was the famous “Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh. Although there’s crazy lights and city chaos going on, she claims that she wanted people to feel and understand the peaceful lit up night it is in the city she drew. Erickson’s first masterpiece took her about two weeks, lots of effort for a beautiful outcome. She used oil paints for this project. “I like oil paints because of how easily they blend together, making art easier.”

Advanced art students spend hours drawing and painting pieces for viewing pleasure, but what is going on in the minds behind the artwork hanging in halls.
