“It’s not how big you are, it’s how big you play.” Open gym has been a good thing for the Lady Braves as they prepare for the upcoming basketball season. All the basketball players, families, and super fans look forward to the games and action ahead with early regular season games against Green River, Cody, Riverton , and Rock Springs.

It takes work and dedication to be ready for the opening tipoff. “Going to open gym has really got me excited for the upcoming season! I think we have potential to do good, so hopefully we can have success,” said junior Cameron Erickson. Erickson will hold down the middle in the 4/5 spot for her team.

The team will stay overnight on long roads trips.”I’m super excited just for the season in general but mostly the overnight trips and late nights with the team,” says junior Anna Olenslager.

The preseason work the players have put in is making a difference. “I have been going to open gym and there is a big difference from the first open gym I went to until now. If I work hard and keep a good and strong mindset, I could accomplish a lot of things and do pretty good,” said sophomore Kenlee Engelhardt.

Although many of the players began with volleyball this year, they can’t wait for basketball. “I am excited for this season because basketball is my favorite sport and I love playing with my friends and having fun!” said senior Amber Milne.

Tryout begin on on Nov. 22 with the final roster coming out a day later.
