Creative Proposals Precede Prom

TAKE THE BAIT AND BE MY DATE: Derek Astle uses a small fishing pole and gummy worms all over Whitnee Hale’s car to ask her to prom. “I can’t wait to go, and hope she liked the gummy worms. I still question whether or not she ate the ones on the hood of the car,” said Astle.

It’s official. After a drought of school dances due to the pandemic, prom is back on April 17th from eight until midnight. Students wasted no time finding dates, asking them out and answering them in creative ways.

After missing the first day of school dance, the homecoming dance, and the winter formal—to name a few—prom will give kids a chance to dress up and socialize, just like normal.  a
