Yearbook signing is the universal symbol of school finally drawing to a close. As the students at SVHS got their hands on their yearbooks after a long assembly filled with awards and songs, they all knew that it could only mean one thing.

The school year is finally ending.

Yearbooks symbolize the ending of a school year as they recount everything we did. It captures all of our favorite games and dances, all of our clubs, and all of the crazy things that happened over the school year.

SIGNAGE: Olivia Rainy concentrates on leaving her mark in a friend’s yearbook.

With the end of the year; however, comes the graduation of the senior class. While the seniors may be anxious to leave this chapter of their lives behind, plenty of the underclassmen will miss them.

Signing yearbooks is a fun way to deal with this. As dozens of students write the usual phrases such as H.A.G.S. and Stay in Touch, dozens more leave much more personalized messages that better reflect the bitter sweet event that is school ending. Parker Thompson said that his favorite part of the yearbook signing was, “how everyone was in one place. That way I could see everyone before they all go.”

GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS: Marina Sessions, Jessica Piper, and Janice Hall study their yearbooks.

Sophomore Lyndee Turner recounts her favorite message that was put into her yearbook. She said, “My favorite message was ‘No matter what anyone says, FMA is the best anime. That was from Tiffany Whitby.'”

So to close off what was a great year SVHS, we here at the Mountain Star give you one big H.A.G.S. May we stay in touch and hang out more over the summer.
