On Friday, Sept 15, the Braves faced off against a long time rival Evanston for the first time since 2008 and it was a blowout with and ending score 62-7 with the Braves raking up around 450 yards of total offense with over 300 of those yards coming on the ground.

Hunter Jacobson, Ronnie Kaye and Payton Erickson made major contributions to the offensive effort.

On most of the passing plays, quarterback Erickson had defenders bouncing off him like he had the super star from Mario. He said, “I was trying channel my inner Ben Roethlisberger and just keep the plays alive.” Kaye broke a personal curse of not finding the end zone with his first touchdown of the year in Evanston. He said, “It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.” Lastly, Jacobson has been steadily tearing up since his return from injury, running like a wild man on offense and hitting like a truck on defense. He said, “It was a really fun game to play in! We just really out-preformed those boys”.
