This year it was Star Valley High School’s turn to host the annual Wyoming High School Junior Legislation.

Junior Legislation is a mock legislative session with student “senators” and “representatives” from schools all across the state of Wyoming. Before arriving at the designated meeting area, these young legislators created several bills to bring to the event.

Initially they are split into their appropriate sub groups to decide which bills to pass on to debate. From there, the bills are presented and debated to then be passed or failed in the end. All but one of the bills passed from Star Valley.

The two days were full of classic debate between the seven teams. Although there are technically no winners nor losers, Star Valley did pass the most bills. Boone Scheiffer won the Outstanding Delegate award. He said, “Winning the outstanding delegate award made me feel outstanding.”
